I am back from my AH-MAZING trip! I am going to share my experiences with you about Venice today, this was my first stop. We got there late at night, water-taxis were closed, so imagine taking all the luggage up the stairs and down few times. I packed too much LOL! The next two days were amazing, the views, the people and ambiance. Locals were drinking wine while sitting on the edge of the canal and they started early too like 10am, how awesome is that!
Cobbled sidewalks and canals were everywhere. It was so great to see everyone just do their daily thing by boats. And the best part was there were gelaterias everywhere. I had one Gelato everyday during my trip, I had withdrawals when I came back LOL.
We mostly walked everywhere to get the feel of the locals, alleys, food and culture and took water taxi to get to Burano and Murano Islands. Burano island was my favorite. I loved the bright colored houses and laundry hanging out the window, reminded me a little of India. We also did the Gondola ride which was quite expensive but worth it.
We walked to the Piazza Saint Marco few times, we saw Saint Mark’s Basilica, and the Doge’s Palace. While walking through the little alleys, we saw a lot of cute cafe’s and local boutiques. I even bought one striped jacked fro 10 Euros. 😀
The cuisine was mostly bread and pasta ( I was in heaven LOL). Food was so good, we mostly went to local cafe’s to get the feel of the town.
Hope you all enjoy the pictures below, they don’t do justice to the beauty of Venice. If you have not visited Venice, I highly recommend adding that to list of your travel plans.
Have a great day all!
